Technique over

A certified
approach to pilates

Works for
every level

We don't chase rep counts. What matters to us is how the body actually moves.

Classes are built around control, breath, precise movement, and gradual progress.

Beginners learn the fundamentals, while experienced clients refine technique, strength, and control.

THE METHOD

What is reformer pilates

Reformer pilates combines biomechanics with attentive movement, breath, control, and gradual strength-building — without rushing or overloading the body. The reformer helps you feel your body in motion: adjustable springs create resistance, the moving platform supports you, and the instructor helps you find precision in every exercise.

Alongside the reformer, the studio also works with a barrel, trapeze, and chair. The barrel develops spinal flexibility and mobility, the trapeze allows movement with resistance across different planes, and the chair trains balance, stability, and strength — including through asymmetrical exercises.

  • Controlled, low-impact load
  • Better posture, mobility, and balance
  • Gradual deep-muscle strengthening
  • Greater body awareness in motion
  • Coordination and stability
Tetyana Livshyts — Certified pilates instructor

FOUNDER

Tetyana Livshyts

Certified pilates instructor

Tetyana came to pilates after years of practicing yoga and CrossFit. Both gave her a lot — an understanding of how the body adapts to load, how breath works, and how much consistency matters in training. But over time she found herself wanting something different: a practice where intensity wasn't the point, where precision, control, and attention to detail mattered more.

She found exactly that in Polestar Pilates — an international method built on the principles of biomechanics, anatomy, and gradual strength-building. The training shaped her into an instructor who works with the reformer as her primary tool, and builds every class in the studio around it.

For Tetyana, learning isn't a one-time event — it's an ongoing process. She continues to deepen her training through the international Polestar Pilates school, alongside additional courses and seminars. Recent ones include a full Pilates Mat I & Reformer I certification in Istanbul, a prenatal pilates specialization with Prosvita Pilates Smart, and an advanced movement-anatomy course for instructors with Fitness 4 You.

In every class, Tetyana works with each person individually. Even in a group format, she takes into account each person's fitness level and how their body feels that particular day. There's no such thing as a "standard class" for her — there's the person who showed up today, and the work that fits them.

Tetyana opened the studio as a place to train without rushing and without that feeling of racing to keep up. A small group, a calm atmosphere, an instructor who sees everyone. A place people come back to because they want to — not because they have to.

"What matters to me is that after class, a person understands their body better — not just feels tired, but feels the muscles that worked, and recognizes where their limits are and where they can go next."

WHO IT'S FOR

Who reformer pilates is for

Reformer pilates suits anyone who wants to work with their body attentively, without rushing or overloading it. It can be a first step toward regular movement, or a way to deepen a practice you already have.

  • If you sit a lot and feel tension in your back, neck, or shoulders
  • If you want to build strength without aggressive, high-intensity training
  • If you're looking for a format where the instructor watches your technique closely
  • If you want to improve posture, mobility, balance, and movement control
  • If you're returning to exercise after a break
  • If you've done pilates before and want more precise work on the equipment

Classes adapt to each participant's level.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need pilates experience?

No. Most people start with zero experience. In your first class, the instructor will explain how the reformer works, show you the basic positions, and help you find a comfortable level of resistance.

How is reformer pilates different from mat pilates?

On the reformer, your body works against spring resistance with the support of a moving platform. That makes it easier to feel control, support, range of motion, and the work of your deep muscles.

Will the class be hard?

The load is adapted to your level. The goal at the start isn't to "survive the workout" — it's to learn to move well, attentively, and without unnecessary strain.

What should I wear, and what should I bring?

Fitted or moderately fitted activewear — leggings and a sports top work best. Avoid very loose pants, since the instructor needs to see how your body is moving. Bring grip socks with a non-slip sole if you have them; if not, we have some at the studio. We'll walk you through everything else when you arrive.

How many times a week should I train?

For noticeable change, two to three times a week. The body needs time between classes to adapt. If you're just starting out, begin with twice a week and see how you feel.

Can I train after an injury, surgery, or with musculoskeletal limitations?

In these cases, it's important to check with your doctor before your first class. After that, we'll help you choose the right format and load — it's usually best to start with a private session, so the instructor can take your specific situation and limitations into account.

Can I train during pregnancy?

Yes, starting from the second trimester, as long as the pregnancy is progressing without complications. We recommend getting your doctor's clearance first. Classes are individual, with a program adapted to you.

How many people are in a group?

Up to six. This format lets the instructor see every participant, correct technique in real time, and adjust the load for each person. At the same time, group classes have their own atmosphere — the shared rhythm and the presence of others helps people stay focused, and usually makes the workout more enjoyable.

How do I cancel a class booking?

Cancellations are free of charge if made at least 12 hours before the class starts, through the booking system. Later cancellations or no-shows result in the class being deducted from your membership.
